2024 press release
Alpine, WY (July 26, 2024) — In two weeks, the fourth annual Wyoming Range 100-Mile Endurance Run will begin. 60 runners from across the United States will travel by foot for 105 miles through the Big Piney and Greys River Ranger Districts of the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Nearly 104.8 miles of the event take place on public lands.
“We are honored to introduce runners and their families to this landscape and invite them to support our stewardship efforts. Every year, the Wyoming Range 100 donates thousands of dollars to Friends of Bridger-Teton, a non-profit committed to all 2,500 miles of trail in the Bridger-Teton National Forest,” said the race director, Denis Cook. “And we are indebted to so many dedicated members of the US Forest Service, who play an integral role in making this extraordinary event possible.”
The race begins on Middle Piney Lake, about 30 miles west of Big Piney, and ends at the Box Y Ranch, about 30 miles south of Alpine, WY. Along the way, runners will climb over 24,000’, pass dozens of mountain lakes, and witness the many uses of our national forest system at work.
